SUMMARY STATEMENT: Support Young Lawyers Division, administer the Supreme Court mentoring program, and provide project assistance as assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Provides support for and coordinates activities of the Young Lawyers Division, including: attending scheduled meetings; providing direction regarding Bar policy; assisting in project and goal development and completion; assisting with preparation of award applications and newsletter copy; monitoring expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance; plan leadership retreat; plan division activities at the annual Bar convention; manage nominating committee for all officer positions; attend fund raising events. Attendance at frequent after-hours events and programs required.
2. Administer the SC Supreme Court’s Mandatory Mentor Program. Coordinate mentors and mentees and their progress in the program. Certify completion of the program.
3. Travel and Coordination of Events:
· Coordinates and schedules travel, meetings, and appointments for managers or supervisors.
· Prepares agendas and schedules for meetings.
· Records and distributes minutes or other records for meetings
4. Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
6. Occasional travel as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Associate or Bachelor's degree or related experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to skillfully express, transmit and interpret knowledge and ideas. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, organize activities and meet deadlines: assertive, energetic, self-starter. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently and effectively. Organize activities and meet deadlines; assertive, energetic, self-starter.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in government or association environment; creative; team player. Two -three years of experience in an administrative role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires prolonged stationary position for computer work and general office duties. Must be able to move around inside the office to access office machinery, office equipment and meet with staff. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
