Bruner Powell is hiring a civil litigation associate.  Associates at Bruner Powell work on a wide range of civil litigation cases on behalf of a variety of clients, including plaintiffs and defendants.  The ideal candidate would have litigation or judicial clerkship experience, but training may be an option for the right candidate. This is a primarily in-person position. 

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients
• Draft or respond to demand letters
• Perform legal research and draft briefs or memoranda
• Draft pleadings and written discovery
• Review documents for production
• Take or defend depositions
• Appear for hearings or trials
• Assist partners and staff with case management

Desired Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree
• South Carolina license
• 0-5 years of experience in civil litigation
• Completed Rule 403 requirements
• Strong analytical, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and Clio
